Fox ‘News’ has spent over 25 years feeding their audience a steady diet of fear and hatred. They have succeeded in divorcing millions from reality with insane delusions by telling them what they want to hear. Since then, a cottage industry of right wing BS peddlers have jumped on the bandwagon to make a quick buck. The result has been the cultivation of more mindless, irrational rage than this nation has seen since the Civil Rights era.
The latest lie these hucksters are inciting their mindless minions with is “Teachers are ‘grooming’ our kids to be gay and trans!” Yeah, to any sane, rational person, that’s immensely laughable. Anyone with an ounce of sense knows that it doesn’t work that way. Sure, where we find cases of teachers (or pastors or sports coaches, or Florida Congressmen) trying to harm children, they should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. But the reality is that you don’t ‘make’ kids gay any more than you ‘make’ kids straight. The nonsense these people are peddling is just the next CRT ‘scare’ about kids being ‘indoctrinated’. Of course the irony is that conservatives are the real conformists who believe children should be forced to conform to their narrow dichotomy. Just to be clear:
“Grooming is the action of influencing a child to become what YOU want them to be. Telling a child that “It’s okay to be who you are.” is the OPPOSITE of “Grooming”.
This should about sum things up:
Keep this in your back pocket (Not literally… unless it’s on your phone and you keep that in your back pocket) in case you encounter these ridiculous claims. When you do, they’ll attempt to give you irrelevant anecdotes, false parity, and many baseless claims. After they do, just say, “Wow, that’s really something. But that means you’re okay with teachers simply telling kids it’s okay to be different, right?”
They always get so upset when you expose the fact that they really don’t care if kids commit suicide.
